My reflection today:

“Life is made up of little things – in which smiles and kindnesses … are what win and preserve the heart.”
Sir H. Davy

“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness and thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in feeling creates love.” Lao Tzu

Both these quotes are needed now more than ever.
I just don’t understand what is going on in our world.
The lack of kindness and respect which brings people to do things such as riot, loot, and destroy statues, religious as well as historical.
Let us pray together that love and kindness will spread throughout our world.

My reflection today:

“ Drop a pebble in the water, and it’s ripples reach far; and the sun beams dancing on them may reflect them to a star. Give a smile to someone passing, thereby making his morning glad; it may greet you in the evening when your own heart may be sad. Do a deed of simple kindness; though it’s end you may not see, it may reach like widening ripples, down along eternity.”
Joseph Norris

Jesus calls us to love one another, one way of doing it is being kind.
I was going to say smiling but with masks we can’t see them.
Each of us is challenged during these times to pass on simple acts of kindness.
It certainly will spread, hopefully more than the hatred that seems to be going around

My reflection today:

“Many people go from one thing to another searching for happiness. But with each new venture they find themselves more confused and less happy until they discover that what they are searching for is inside themselves and what will make them happy is sharing their real selves with the ones they love.”
Susan Polis Schutz

How true! Unfortunately advertisements tell us that we need this to be happy or we need that to be happy.
The only person that can make me happy it’s me.
The only person that can make you happy is you.
Our God can bring each one of us peace and happiness if we accept ourself as God created us… not as we want to be. An old quote
“God doesn’t make junk.”

My reflection today comes from our Mercy Prayer Book:

“ God, your love is everlasting! You shower us with blessings and provide us in our need. Listen to our prayer and bring all creation into oneness. Let us reverence earth as our home, and each other as sister or brother. Let us be blessed with peace within and without. This we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

What a powerful image…that God’s love is everlasting.

It’s important to stop and reflect about how much God loves each one of us.

My reflection today:
“ Love is the strongest and most fulfilling emotion possible
It lets you share your goals, your desires your experiences
It lets you share your life with someone
It lets you be yourself with someone who will always support you
It lets you speak your inner most feelings to someone who understands you
It lets you feel tenderness and warmth – a wholeness that avoids loneliness
Love lets you feel complete” Susan Polis Schutz
If you feel there’s no one in your life that loves you totally, think again.
Our God who made each of us in God’s image and likeness; loves each one of us unconditionally.
Just ponder that for a while, God loves you and me with no strings attached.
God loves us for who we are not who we want to be or try to be.
Stop and let God‘s love overflow you today and every day. ❤️

My reflection today:

“When someone cares
It is easier to speak
It is easier to listen
It is easier to play
It is easier to work
When someone cares it is easier to laugh.” Susan Polis Schutz

“Remember that a heart is like a garden that needs to be tended to and nourished with what only another heart can give – love and
appreciation, devotion and honesty.” Tracia Gloudemans

It is amazing that when we feel someone cares we can accept pretty much anything that they say.
Maybe that is what is missing in our world today.
People feel that others don’t really care.
I never really thought about a heart being like a garden but it is true.
Each one of us needs to be loved and nourished.
As that wonderful song says, what the world needs now is love, sweet love.❤️

Make Room in Your Life for These Things:

Love – to shine like blue skies above you wherever you go, so you always know you’re in the hearts of so many people.

Light – to see the end of the tunnel when you’re struggling with troubles, so you always know you have the inner power to survive in triumph.

Laughter – to keep you healthy in mind and body; to give you the ability to act silly and exercise your giggle; to remind you that life is too short to be taken so seriously.

A lifeline in the form of family and friends – to anchor you, support you, and keep you going forward in a positive way when you’re faced with a crisis, so you always know you are a survivor.

Lots of positive thoughts – to help you fulfill all your wishes, so you always know your possibilities are unlimited… and success is your destiny.” Jacqueline Schiff

Love, light, laughter, family, friends, and positive thoughts are what will keep us going during these difficult times.
Each one of us can be pulled down by all the negativity around us or we can let Jesus lift us up to see that there are positive experiences in our life.?

July 5, 2020

My reflection today is from Joyce Rupp’s Fresh Bread:

“ This July remind yourself often that “you must live your whole life according to the Christ you have received “(Colossians 2:6) and that you are to be a letter from Jesus to all those in your life.

Take the time to know Jesus better.

Renew your friendship and deepen your love for him by reading the Scriptures, listening to music that sings about him, by finding spiritual reading with tells of him. Look for the letters from Jesus that others are to you.

And remember, “there is only Christ: he is everything and he is in everything” Colossians 3:11”

Imagine that you are a letter, text or email from Jesus.
Maybe some of those who are destroying statues or property in our country might rethink about what they are doing.
Each one of us is called to reflect Jesus to one another.
Some days it’s easier than others. Have a great day!?
