My reflection today:
“Release the child within you so you can sing, laugh, and play.
List the things that you do best, and give yourself a hug. Accept compliments.
Dance barefoot. Plan to fulfill a secret wish.
Laugh at yourself. And above all, remember you are loved.” – Jacqueline Schiff
Jesus called us to be childlike. When the apostles try to chase the children away, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.”
No matter how old we are we still can become like little children.❤️

My reflection today:
“The birds and animals, trees and grasses, rocks, water, and wind are our allies. They weaken our senses, rouse our passions, renew our spirits, and fill us with vision, courage, and joy….
As long as the birds return and the flowers bloom, I will dream of a time when we value blue skies more than new automobiles, count our wealth in joy rather than possessions, and dwell in peace and balance with the earth. I am not without hope.” – David Gaines
During this pandemic, many people have turned to nature for consolation. God has given us all these wonderful, beautiful, natural gifts. I love the line, count our wealth in joy rather than possessions. Amen!

My reflection today:
“ I am convinced that attitude is the key to success or failure in almost any of life‘s endeavors. Your attitude – your perspective, your outlook, how you feel about yourself, how you feel about other people-determines your priorities, your actions, your values. Your attitude determines how you interact with other people and how you interact with yourself.” –  Caroline Warner
This reflection is so true. Our attitude, our perspective, influences our entire life.
A perfect example is: a person was standing on the bus and got poked in the back. She was already to turn around and give that person a piece of her mind, she looked and the person was blind. Now a total different reaction. let us pray to ask God to give us a positive attitude.?

My reflection today:
“Celebrate all you are and how much you are loved. Honor the person you are and all you’re becoming. Be reminded of how many people look up to you and admire all the goodness in your heart. Reach out and feel the happiness others wish for you. Do the things that bring sunlight to your heart and add a touch of magic to your dreams.” – Linda E. Knight
I find this reflection interesting. Unfortunately, I think many think about there negative qualities rather than their positive qualities.
When I was teaching, I would ask the students to list all their positive qualities and then on the other side list their negative qualities. Many times the list on the negative side was longer than the positive side. Linda challenges us to think about people thinking positively about us. Each one of us needs to let our light shine out to others.
God recognizes our beauty and wonderful qualities, let us stop and thank God for all those wonderful gifts.?

My reflection today:
“When we are hurting God doesn’t stay on high-He brings His Majesty to earth on the wings of love. When we encounter trials and tribulations, it is God who will help us face whatever is happening in our hearts. He pours His peace into the moments, holds our hands and calms our fears. He walks with us and talks with us along the way. When we need the ultimate in compassion – the greatest caring, true concern – it is God’s love that wipes each tear away and brings tomorrow’s hope. God isn’t far away…
He’s always by your side.” – Barbara J. Hall
What an image, bringing His majesty to earth on wings of love. Whenever we are going through difficult times let’s reflect on that image. God is with us to wipe our tears away and bring tomorrow’s hope. The question is do we really believe this? There are such beautiful images of God’s tenderness and mercy in this reflection

My reflection today:
“Think about the good things in life, like sunshine, holidays, feeling loved, special friendships, and laughter. Think about rainbows, blue skies and beautiful sunsets and feel loved, cared about, and accepted. Remember that in life, although there is some bad stuff, good things really do happen, too.” – Maria Mullins
Yes, in spite of this pandemic there have been some good things. Since this reflection by Maria Mullins speaks about rainbows, I decided to share the picture of the rainbow over our pond.
May be an image of nature

My reflection today:
Positive Thinkers Have Twelve Qualities in Common
“They have confidence in themselves.
They have a very strong sense of purpose.
They never have excuses for not doing something.
They always try their hardest for perfection.
They never consider the idea of failing.
They work extremely hard toward their goals.
They know who they are.
They understand their weaknesses as well as their strong points.
They can accept and benefit from criticism.
They know when to defend what they are doing.
They are creative.
They are not afraid to be a little different in finding innovative solutions that will enable them to achieve their dreams.” – Susan Polis Schutz

Each one of us is called to be a positive thinker. Each day we are challenged to be positive in spite of all the negativity around us. We are created in God’s image and likeness

My reflection today:
“Make time in your busy schedule now and then to contemplate and slow way down – to gaze at the landscape, marvel at the beauty and the majesty of the trees, and look up until you can almost touch that big, out-of-reach blue sky. Be thankful you can see.
Be still and hear the sounds around you. Listen to the birds speaking their own language. Hear the universe singing in the world making its music in concert with the rhythms of the traffic. Tune in to those melodies in your heart for inspiration. Be glad you can hear.
Breeze in hope and joy, and feel the life-giving air. Breathe out fear and regret. Don’t worry about doing anything this moment except being where you are. Feel the harmony of your relationship with every living thing. Be mindful of the people who are positive influences in your life.
Take the time to fall in love with life with the innocence and wonder of a child.” – Donna Fargo
Jesus tells us to be like little children. In this reflection we are reminded to be like children to be grateful for the gifts that we have been given. I don’t know about you but so often I forget to be grateful for the ability to see, to hear, to walk, to talk. May God open our eyes to see all the beauty around us.?

My reflection today:
“Accept and appreciate that you’re the one most responsible for making your dreams come true. Be your own best friend. Cheer yourself on.
Choose your thoughts, because if you don’t, you’re still making a choice and you’ll have to take what you get. In your mind’s eye create a positive picture that will draw what you want to you. Your intuition is powerful; use it. Keep your desires burning. Don’t be afraid to take careful chances.
Inform yourself. Make the connections between your thoughts, your actions, and the results you’re getting. The cumulative quality of your actions will weave the tapestry of your destiny. Live your life consciously; don’t just let your life live you.
Look at your circumstances as life lessons rather than adversities. Keep a careful watch over your joy. Cherish it. Acknowledge your blessings, no matter how small they may seem. You are a student in the school of life and in many ways your own teacher. Appreciate the lessons you’ve learned, and enjoy life, others, and yourself.” – Donna Fargo
I was sharing with someone the other day, one of the main reasons I retired as principal was that so many people would not take responsibility for their own actions. It was always someone else’s fault. Two people can go through the exact situation and both will handle it differently. It is all about our choices.
I used to share this story at the first parent teacher meeting. ‘A couple had a set of twins. One child was an optimist and the other was a pessimist. A psychologist told them the way to balance them out was to give the pessimist a room of toys, and the optimist a pile of manure. The parents watched the two boys when they received their gifts. The pessimist was complaining this wasn’t the right color, this was too small etc. They looked in at the optimist who is shoveling the manure saying , ‘With all this manure, there has to be a pony.’ Need I say more? Jesus teaches us to look for that pony.?

My reflection today:
“Every day be full of awareness of the beauty around you. Be full of gratitude for friends and family, for the goodness you find in others, for your health and all you’re capable of. Be full of acceptance of yourself and others – without conditions or judging, knowing that differences and changes make life interesting. Appreciate the gifts of laughter and fun in your life, and find contentment in knowing that you can always control your ability to look on the bright side.” – Barbara Cage
Today is my friend Rae’s funeral and burial.
As I reflect on today’s passage it’s sums up Rae. In spite of all that she went through she tried to look on the bright side.
Unfortunately, cancer was stronger than her positive attitude.
Rest in peace my friend. I’m sure you were reunited with your family and your faithful dogs. ?
