My reflection today is from Living Faith:
Abraham prostrated himself and laughed as he said to himself, “Can a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can Sarah give birth at ninety? Genesis 17:17
“Have you experienced a moment like this with God? When something lines up or shows up for you that is so impossibly good that your response is laughter? Unmitigated delight, gratitude, wonder?
In these moments, we know that we know. There is no way we could have orchestrated or optimized anything this good. It’s beyond comprehension, beyond our capacity to envision or construct. It’s boundless in potential, reach, realm. It destroys all construct of fear or limitation. It feels like awe. Like love. Like power.
When humans don’t know how to respond, we typically laugh or cry – and in the highest of moments, we usually do both at the same time
Miracles are still in effect, still happening, still offered to us.
It’s time to be open to the potential. Prepare to be overjoyed.” Kristen Armstrong
There are times when God totally surprises us. Let us take time today to reflect on those times and thank God for being in our lives. ?

My reflection today:
“Someone’s watching over you with the greatest love. Someone wants you to be happy, safe, and secure. Someone considers you a wonderful individual and cares about your needs. Someone’s making blessings for your benefit right now- like sunshine for those rainy days and rainbows to remind you of the promise up ahead. Someone’s watching over you always… and He will take good care of you.” Barbara J. Hall
God is always watching over us! God‘s love surrounds us and takes care of us.?

My reflection today:
“ May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always understand. May the pain you have known in the conflict you have experienced give you the strength to walk through life facing each new situation with courage and optimism. Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will always be there, even when you feel most alone.
May a kind word, a reassuring touch, and a warm smile be yours every day of your life, and may you give these gifts as well as receive them. Realize that what you may feel you lack in one regard may be more than compensated for in another. What you feel you lack in the present may become one of your strengths in the future. May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility. Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience. May you find enough inner strength to determine your own words by yourself, and not be dependent on another’s judgment of your accomplishments. May you always feel loved.” Sandra Sturtz Hauss
Let us remember today that God loves us unconditionally, no strings attached. ❤️

My reflection today:
“The world was made
to be beautiful – but sometimes we get caught up in
everyday actions completely forgetting about this
completely forgetting that
what is truly important
are the simple, basic things in life-
honest, pure emotions
surrounded by the majestic beauty of nature
we need to concentrate on
the freeness and peacefulness of nature
and not on the driven material aspects of life
we need to smell the clear air
after the rainfall
and appreciate the good in things
Each of us must be responsible and do our part
in order to help preserve a beautiful world-
the waterfalls, the oceans, the mountains
the large gray boulders
the large green farms
the fluffy pink clouds
the sunrise and sunset, ladybugs
rainbows, dew, hummingbirds
butterflies, dandelions
We need to remember that
we are here for a short time
and that every day should count for something and
that every day we should be thankful
for all the natural beauty
The world is a wonderful place
and we are so lucky to be part of it” – Susan Polis Schutz
Let us take time to enjoy the world around us and thank God for the many gifts given to each one of us.?

My reflection today is from Living Faith:
“Jesus was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. They woke him and said to him, “Teacher do you not care that we are perishing?” Mark 4:38
We might easily get annoyed when someone doesn’t take a situation as seriously as we do. If we’re worried, we want others to be worried right along with us. But when the apostles were panicking, fearing for their lives, Jesus was sound asleep! How could he be so calm about the situation? The apostles were experienced fisherman. No doubt they had passed through their share of storms, so they knew that this was a severe one. They knew that they couldn’t handle the situation on their own. And so, they called on Jesus. The times that we most worried, when we panic and are most afraid, are usually the times when we have failed to put our faith in God. Jesus awoke and rescued the apostles.
No matter where we go, no matter what we’re facing, let’s not panic. Let’s recall our faith and remember that Jesus is always in the boat with us.” Terrence Hegarty
This is easier said than done. It is easier to tell someone not to worry. I think back when I was young and my father was there when I was worried or afraid. He had such a calming effect. Thank you God for this reminder, that you are always with us no matter what we are going through.?

my reflection today comes from Living Faith:
Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothes? Matthew 6:7
“Jesus’ sense of humor shows through in many places, including this speech recorded by Matthew. The human capacity for worry is boundless. The suffering caused by anxiety is immense. Like the bird at the window, we bump up against our own limitations over and over, and yet have trouble recognizing or acknowledging them. Our worry and anxiety grow.
We cannot help but be anxious about our safety and well-being. Of course, we cannot make ourselves invulnerable to suffering and death. Jesus knows all this- he experiences it in his own humanness, which he willingly took on. What we can do is accept the love of God who tends and cares for us, and who alone is the antidote for anxiety. Trusting God won’t take away our need of food and clothing. But it will answer the deepest need of all. And that changes everything.
Teach me to seek you first, my God”
Mary Marrocco
Sister Francine Marie gave me a prayer card that said, “Worrying is like a rocking chair, you just keep going back-and-forth and get no where.” When we are going through difficult times let us put it in God’s hands. I know it is easier said than done.?
The Spirit is working. I just quoted Sister Francine Marie and then I saw in my prayer book today is the anniversary of her death.❤️

My reflection today:
Today’s reading comes from Paul’s letter to the 2 Corinthians 11:22-26
“Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? So am I. Are they ministers of Christ? I am still more. With far greater laborers, far more imprisonment far worse beatings, and numerous brushes with death. Five times at the hands of the Jews I received 40 lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I passed a night and day on the deep, on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own race, dangers from Gentiles, dangers in the city, strangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many sleepless nights, through hunger and thirst, through frequent fasting’s, through cold and exposure.”
So when you think you are having a bad day or a difficult time in life think about Saint Paul. I was just amazed at all the sufferings that he went through because of his love and preaching the Gospel.

My reflection today comes from our Mercy prayer book:
“The God of life is in our midst, breathing energy and compassion into our hearts. We lift our voices in prayer and praise as we say:
Generous God, fill our heart!
We pray for the gift of gratitude that we may be thankful for each new day:
We pray for the gift of hope that we may be able to meet the challenges of each day with courage and conviction:
We pray for the gift of compassion that we may reach out to all who are oppressed, especially to women and men who struggle for equality and fullness of life:
We pray for the gift of joy that we may delight in the beauty of each person and in the mystery of your love:
We pray for the gift of peace that we may live in harmony with one another:”
our God is in our midst! I believe that God is in our midst even in our deepest struggles. Let us take the time today to reflect on how God is in our midst.❤️

My reflection today:
“Promise yourself… to follow the path that best affirms your values, expresses your passion, and empowers your soul; to balance work with play, learning with teaching, and words with deeds.
Promise yourself… to treat people with respect for their differences and compassion for their pain; to appreciate that everyone has a reason for doing what they do, feeling how they feel, and being where they are.
Promise yourself… to say ‘yes’ to your curiosity and ‘no’ to your fear; to keep your goals clear in your mind and close to your heart; to choose relationships that allow for the fullest expression of your interests, feelings, and self- and to build on those that nourish you; to be the one who makes things happen when others make excuses and the one who gives even more when others give up.
Promise to put your best into every task… and get the most out of every day.Paula Finn
Let us ask God to help us get the most out of every day.?
