My reflection:
This is a very short and simple lesson in mindfulness, a way in which we can bring peace to ourselves in any moment. Practicing this twenty minutes each day, preferably in the morning, will change your life.
Sit comfortably, with your back as straight as possible. Let your entire body relax. Close your eyes very gently. Bring your full awareness to your breath as you breathe in and out through your nose. You can say to yourself: ‘I am breathing in. I am breathing out. In. Out.’ Or: ‘I am breathing in peace. I am breathing out tension. Peace. Tension.’
Simply notice whatever takes you from your breathing – a thought, sound, itch, daydream – and acknowledge it by naming it. Then, very gently, without judgment, go back to your breathing.
By practicing this 20 minutes in the morning, every day, you will learn how powerful your breath is, and you will become more and more aware that you can turn your breath at any time during the day to bring peace to your heart.” Ruth Fishel
You can also use the Jesus prayer calling on Jesus name when you breathe in and breathe out.?

My reflection:
“Be patient and persistent, and you won’t ever feel the need to quit. Seek help when you need it, and you’ll never struggle alone.
Keep your energy, passion, and excitement for life, and you’ll never be bored or discontented. Stay focused on your goals and not on who others want you to be or what they want you to achieve.
When making decisions, listen to your logical mind, but don’t leave behind the wisdom of your instincts and the messages from your heart. Listen to all of them and do what’s right for you. Let your faith be a guiding light and daily comfort, and you were always feel blessed.
Let these words be your guide to a positive life. Keep them in your mind, heart, and spirit. Use them, and the guiding principles you discover on your own, to create for yourself the future you choose.” Jacqueline Schiff

My reflection:
“As long as you keep trying you won’t ever stop achieving. Keep feeding your mind, and it won’t go hungry for ideas. Stay optimistic, and you won’t ever lose hope.
Embrace change, and you’ll keep on growing forever. Keep making new friends, and your circle will constantly expand. Nurture the talents of others, and you’ll always get results.
Be a promise keeper and you’ll keep peoples trust. Be who you are, and you’ll always be real. Give credit to those who helped you reach goals, and you’ll always have a team.
Keep aiming high, and you’ll always have dreams. Keep your eyes open, and you’ll see opportunities. Keep your enthusiasm, and you’ll always be inspired.” Jacqueline Schiff

My reflection today is from Living Faith:
And my spirit continues in your midst; do not fear! Haggai 2:5
“A remnant of the Jews has just returned to Judah from their exile in Babylon. They are exhausted. They are overwhelmed by the destruction they see. And they are fearful of what lies ahead for them. Enter the prophet Haggai with some good news from God. ‘Take courage,’ says God. ‘I am with you.’ That word with means more than I am accompanying you. As the people soon learn, the word with means, ‘ I am for you… I am in your corner… I am on your team.’ God promises the people that the glory of the new temple will be even greater than the former one. Imagine how consoled the people were by such words.
But the best part of the story is this: God speaks those same words to us today. Whatever we may be exhausted from. Whatever we may feel overwhelmed by. Whatever we may be fearful of, God is with us. God is for us. God is in our corner.
If really believed these words, how would my life be different?” Sr. Melannie Svoboda. S.N.D.
We need these words now more than ever with all that is going on in our world. God is always with us!?

My reflection:
Today is Mercy Day. It is the anniversary of the opening of the first “House of Mercy” in 1827 in Dublin, Ireland. Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy devoted her life to the poor, sick and uneducated and today we continue her legacy of caring and compassion in the name of Mercy.?

My reflection from Give Us this Day:
“Padre Pio, a capuchin friar of peasant background, spent virtually his entire life in a monastery in southern Italy. In most respects he was indistinguishable from his fellow friars. But for some mysterious purpose padre Pio was set apart. For the thousands of pilgrims who flock to hear him say mass, or to have him hear their confessions, or simply to rest their gaze on his bandaged hands, he was living proof for the existence of God.
Like Saint Francis, Pio was a stigmatic; he bore on his hands, feet, and sideshow the wounds of Christ. These mysterious open wounds, for which there was no natural explanation, appeared on his body in 1910 and remained until some months before his death. He was credited with thousands of miracles and enjoyed other extraordinary gifts, including the ability to ‘read the hearts’ of penitence. It was even said that he had the rare gift of bilocation – the ability to be in more than one
place at once. In other words, he was endowed with the full repertoire of supernatural gifts typically a scribed to medieval saints – though he was a man living in the glare of modern skepticism.”
“Pray, hope, and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” Saint Pio

My reflection:
“ Love is the strongest and most fulfilling emotion possible
It lets you share your goals, your desires your experiences
It lets you share your life with someone who will always support you
It lets you speak your inner most feelings to someone who understands you
It let you feel tenderness and warmth -a wholeness that avoids loneliness
Love let you feel complete” Susan Polis Schutz

My reflection:
“To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring” George Santayana
Cold weather helps us appreciate warm weather more – and warm weather helps us appreciate cold weather. With a change in seasons, there are so many things to anticipate. During the course of a year we watch trees change from bare to green to orange and red and gold to brown and back to bare again. Then there’s the miracle of budding and greening all over again the next year.
As I enjoy the change of seasons, I can enjoy the changes in my life. I realize that God is always with me through all the changes in my life.?

My reflection:
“I will never stop thanking God,
with constant words of praise.
My soul will boast of God;
the poor will hear me and be glad.
Join me in praising the Lord,
together tell of God’s name.
I asked and the Lord responded, freed me from all my fears.
Turn to God, be bright with joy;
you shall never be let down.
I begged and got heard,
took my burdens from me.
God’s angel defends the faithful, guards them on every side.
Drink in the richness of God,
enjoy the strength of the Lord.
Live in awe of God, you saints:
you will want for nothing.
Even if lions go hungry,
those seeking God are fed.
Come to me, children, listen:
learn to cherish the Lord.
Do you long for life,
for time to enjoy success?
Keep your tongue from evil,
keep lies far from your lips.
Shun evil, go after good,
press on, seek after peace.
God confronts the wicked
to block them out forever,
but turns toward the just
to hear their cry for help.
The troubled call out; God hears, saves them from all distress.
God stays near broken hearts,
heals the wounded spirit.
The good endure great trials,
but God comes to the rescue
and guards their every bone
so not one is broken.”
Psalm 34:1 – 21
I believe that no matter what we are going through our God always remains with us and walks with us.?

My reflection:
“Guarantee your peace of mind, contentment, faith, and strength, as well as the constant ability to find joy in all the things that sometimes go unnoticed. Find moments to connect with other individuals who are full of smiles and hugs to give away and stories and laughter to share.” Barbara Cage
God gives us so many wonderful gifts. Thank you God for this gorgeous day
