My reflection today is from Living Faith:
If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts. Psalm 95:8
“Following a parish meeting not long ago, a friend and fellow parishioner put his hand up to his ear and told me that he hadn’t heard what I said to him. He showed me the tiny hearing aid in his ear and said, ‘I’m hard of hearing.’ Then, with a Broad smile, he added, ‘courtesy of the U.S. Army.’ I wondered what duties he had undertaken that led to his hearing loss, but I didn’t ask. He gave no indication that his compromised hearing bothered him. An active parishioner, always smiling, volunteering and otherwise willing to help out, he proclaimed the faith very loudly by his actions. He may be hard of hearing, but he is definitely not hard-hearted.
God speaks to us every day. Some days, we may not be patient enough to listen. Other days, a chance encounter with a friend allows God‘s voice to come through loud and clear.” Terrence Hegarty
